Hello, my name is Nichole Dohm and I teach 7th and 8th Grade Science. I am very excited to be starting a new school year. This will be my 17th year teaching for the district. I previously taught 12 years in the Multiage program at Eagle Lake Elementary School. This will be my 4th year teaching at the middle school level.
I have a Masters degree in Teaching from Andrews University and a Bachelors degree in Biology from Western Michigan University. While teaching elementary school for 12 years, I enjoyed teaching reading and writing. But, my true passion was teaching science to my students at Eagle Lake. I often incorporated science concepts across all of the curriculum.
I grew up here in Michigan and enjoy spending time on the Michigan coast. My family and I are so fortunate to travel every summer to my favorite place, the ocean! We explored the South Carolina coast where we saw dolphins, jellyfish and nesting sea turtles. It was like having a science class on the beach! You will find out that I have a huge interest in coastal sea life, in particular, sea turtles. I can’t wait to spend this year exploring your interest in science.
