Physical Education

Welcome to Physical Education!

Middle School Physical Education is designed to develop and enhance fitness levels, sports related and lifetime activity skills.  A wide variety of developmentally appropriate activities will be explored during this class, which will increase the likelihood of lifelong physical activity.

My name is Nicole Cartoney, I started teaching at EMS 2003. I graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Physical Education and Health with an emphasis in Coaching. In 2009, I obtained my master's degree from Western Michigan University in Pedagogy with an emphasis in Adaptive Physical Education. I wholeheartedly believe in the benefits that physical activity, proper nutrition, and mental health give our bodies. It is my job to share my passions and motivate students to become lifelong movers who choose to take care of themselves through proper nutrition and exercise. It is also my goal to create a safe, fun, and engaging learning environment for all students. I challenge all students to walk through the door possessing a positive attitude and to participate at their personal best.
